Participate in the september 13 miracle

On September 13, at 12 p.m. (noon), we are inviting every single resident on the island of Montreal and surrounding areas to drop a non-perishable food item on their doorstep. Thousands of volunteers from your community will travel to collect these donations and redistribute them to those in need in your community.

Become a volunteer

Montreal needs all the help it can get to pull this miracle off. The more people involved, the more special September 13th will be. Fill out this form and we will contact you with more details on how you can help make this miracle happen.

You can form your own team!

Pomerleau embarked on the #LunchBoxChallenge initiative

On June 9, Pomerleau officially embarked on the #LunchboxChallenge initiative. The company accepted the invitation from Scott Construction Group, based in BC and the instigator of the initiative. The idea behind the Lunch Box Challenge is simple and two-fold: it aims to recognize the exceptional work of its colleagues while supporting local restaurateurs during these difficult times. The individual meals, wrapped in recyclable materials, are enjoyed according to the rules of physical distancing in force in order to ensure a safe environment for all.

To date, seven Lunch Box challenges have been held, representing 4 regions where Pomerleau is present. Five more are in the pipeline, including two in Montreal: on its construction sites at Place Ville Marie and Gare Windsor. When completed, Pomerleau will have met its commitment in bringing the Challenge coast-to-coast and offering meals in all the provinces where we have active worksites.

"CoronAnxiety": Therappx wants to help.

“If we could offer our expertise in application assessment and our technologies, we would help a lot of people.", was the request that one of the developers at Therappx made to its managers. They've listened.

Therappx is a start-up that helps businesses and healthcare organizations navigate the 170,000 mobile health apps available in Canada. To curate them, Therappx has developed a robot that “walks” through the two main virtual stores in order to find the applications that have clinical potential. Then, a committee of around twenty clinicians assesses the applications.

During COVID-19, they released a free algorithm allowing individuals to find an application for stress and anxiety based on their personal objectives. According to Morneau Shepell, 81% of individuals in Canada are currently experiencing an increase in their anxiety. In such, the platform helps support existing Employee assistance programs by referring to digital resources promoting self-care, reducing the pressure on these programs and on the health system in general.

Join Forces with Sainte-Justine: Become a Front-Line Donor

The CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation is looking for 50,000 front-line donors to support the hospital’s work in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“If you can, please give generously”: a heartfelt appeal from this leading mother-and-child hospital, which is the designated facility for the testing and hospitalization of young COVID-19 patients in Quebec. The staff at Sainte-Justine are investing a phenomenal amount of energy to respond to this unprecedented crisis.

Donors to this emergency fund will be helping to support the hospital’s teams, including the research personnel who are working day and night to find solutions to the colossal challenge of COVID-19. The fund will also be used to meet the pressing needs of families who have been left in dire financial straits because of the current situation.

Once the target of 50,000 donors has been reached, Dr. Alexander Weil, a pediatric neurosurgeon at Sainte-Justine, will pitch in an extra $100,000 in recognition of their generosity.

The professionals at Sainte-Justine are here for our children, just as they always have been. Only right now, that means leaving their own families behind, working countless hours and putting themselves at risk for the sake of others. So now it’s up to us to reach out to them and say, “We are here for you.”

Together, let’s join forces and help Sainte-Justine overcome this crisis.
