“L’air du temps”: opening concert for the Montreal Chamber Music Festival

The Montreal Chamber Music Festival opens its 2019 season with a spectacular concert event: a one-man show by the incredible Gregory Charles! In its Montreal premiere, L’Air du Temps takes a bilingual look back upon the past 250 years of western music, from Baroque to hip-hop and from the French Revolution to the digital revolution. This one-of-a-kind evening, featuring the most passionate troubadour of our time, takes place at Pollack Hall (555 Sherbrooke Street West) on Friday, June 7 at 8 p.m.

Following the show’s debut in Quebec City, Le Soleil’s Normand Provencher called Gregory Charles’ talent breathtaking, commenting: ” Let it be said, Gregory Charles is not a human being. He is a pure creature of artificial intelligence, a cyborg to which scientists have grafted a processor allowing it to play the piano and sing the entire history of music, a state-of-the-art replicator also able to make laugh and move.” That evening’s completely improvised show, fueled by audience requests, included everything from Beethoven to Édith Piaf to Coldplay.

Date and Time: Friday, June 7th at 8:00 p.m.

Location: Pollack Hall, McGill University (map)

Attend the St-Jean-Vianney Foundation’s 11th lobster dinner

The St-Jean-Vianney Foundation is organizing its eleventh lobster dinner at the prestigious Club de golf le Mirage in Terrebonne on May 24, 2019.

Last year, this event brought together about 385 people from the business community. The event aims to encourage young people from east-end Montréal and Lanaudière to continue their high school education.

We’re asking you to support this initiative by purchasing tickets for the event. The Foundation will provide its guests with a tax receipt for all tickets purchased.

About the Foundation

The St-Jean-Vianney Foundation encourages young people to adopt healthy lifestyles. It’s thanks to the Foundation that the Centre sportif et culturel du Collège St-Jean-Vianney was built in 2009. With its soccer stadium, arena and multiple outdoor fields (soccer, basketball, volleyball and football), the Centre helps young people in the Montréal and Lanaudière regions maintain an active lifestyle and develop a passion for sports. The Antony-Carola soccer stadium, which opened in September 2010, was built in memory of Antony Carola who died of cancer at 14. Antony was a popular young student remembered for his courage, altruism and great passion for sports. He continues to inspire our Foundation today. Thank you for your valuable support.

Become a stay-in-school ambassador!

Every year for the past 25 years, the program Opération Bonne Mine has been rewarding young people from underprivileged areas by offering them stay-in-school scholarships to recognize their commitment to and efforts at school. The scholarships are awarded at an exclusive gala taking place this year at the Montreal Science Centre.

This year, the program goal is to recognize the efforts of 50 students by awarding 25 scholarships of $250 to primary school students and 25 scholarships of $500 to high school students.
