Working together to propel Greater Montréal’s economic recovery
Because handshakes – the symbol of alliance and equality – are now prohibited, let's work together, shoulder to shoulder, to prepare and launch the metropolitan's economic recovery.
The city’s economy has been hard hit by the COVID-19 crisis. What began as a health crisis quickly turned into a major economic crisis. Although the economic rebound has already begun, the time has come to look ahead and make the best possible decisions for a sustainable recovery of Greater Montréal’s economy and businesses.
In this exceptional context, we have created the Relaunch MTL movement, which seeks to mobilize every stakeholder in the city’s economic ecosystem around relaunching the major strategic sectors.
Thanks to data and intelligence collected in real time, each sector will be diagnosed according to the issues it faces.
The movement’s objective is to gain a detailed understanding of the issues facing these sectors, to find solutions and to guide decision-making by businesses and the levels of government. All this will work toward a common goal: to successfully revive Montréal’s economy.
The Relaunch MTL movement will consist of a series of virtual events and sectoral action plans that will make it possible to initiate a reflection and implement actions to propel the sustainable recovery of the city’s economy and businesses. Relaunch MTL will target 15 key sectors in our economy:
• Cleantech and the Green Economy
• Construction and Infrastructure
• Cultural and Creative Industries
• Downtown area
• Financial Services
• Higher education institutions
• Information Technology
• Life Sciences and Health Technology
• Retail Trade
• Transportation and Logistics
Through a customizable platform, the Relaunch MTL movement will allow participants to have a unique experience that fosters discovery, networking and collective learning. Participants will be able to customize their own paths and meetings, according to their professional interests.
