Mitch Garber was born in Montreal in 1964.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree from McGill University (1986) and a Law degree from the University of Ottawa (1989).
He is currently the CEO of Caesars Acquisition Company, a NASDAQ quoted company affiliated with Caesars Entertainment, which controls six hotel and casino complexes, as well as Caesars Interactive Entertainment (CIE).
He is also the CEO of CIE, a company he cofounded in 2009 and that is today one of the world’s largest social and mobile game providers. CIE is also the owner of the World Series of Poker.
Together with TPG, Fosun and the Caisse de dépôt, Mitch Garber is part of the group that recently acquired Cirque du Soleil. He will chair its board of directors when the transaction is officially completed, during the summer of 2015.
As a CEO, Mitch Garber has enjoyed several successes with businesses he has led, on the NASDAQ, London and Toronto stock exchanges. He has lived in several countries around the world.
With his wife, Anne-Marie, a tax lawyer, he is committed to a number of philanthropic causes involving medical research, drinking water, education, and support of the State of Israel. They sit on the boards of directors of such prestigious non-profit institutions and organizations as the McGill University Faculty of Medicine Advisory Board, the St. Mary’s Hospital Centre, the McCord Museum, the Weizmann Institute, Aleh hospitals, the Fondation Montréal Inc., and the One Drop Foundation.
Mitch Garber is also part of a group of proud Montrealers seeking to bring Major League Baseball back to their hometown. He currently appears on the television program Dans l’œil du dragon (the French version of Dragons Den and Shark Tank).
He lives in Montréal with his wife and two sons.
