VIVEMONTRÉAL: a rallying cry for the Montréal business community

Montréal, December 11, 2015 ‒ The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montréal proudly took part in launching the new VIVEMONTRÉAL signature this morning, organized by the Society for the Celebrations of Montréal’s 375th Anniversary. The launch took place with Montréal Mayor Denis Coderre, and Minister of Transport and Minister Responsible for the Montréal region, Robert Poëti in attendance. The Board of Trade would like to take this opportunity to issue a call for mobilization to the entire business community in anticipation of Montréal’s 375th anniversary.

“The result of a close collaboration between the Board of Trade, Montréal International, Tourisme Montréal and the Society for the Celebrations of Montréal’s 375th Anniversary, this signature shines a light on the vitality and creativity of Montréal companies,” said Michel Leblanc, president and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. “It’s a brand that we should sport with pride around the city, in Québec, in Canada and internationally. The business community is already mobilizing, and asserting this strong positioning as we head toward Montréal’s 375th anniversary will help support the city’s economic vitality.”

“Montréal’s 375th anniversary is a milestone we need to take advantage of,” Michel Leblanc said. “The Board of Trade encourages companies to take part in this important occasion, particularly by joining forces to create legacies, which have the potential to generate significant economic and tourism spinoffs for the city. The success of celebrations for Montréal’s 375th anniversary, and, above all, how long the benefits last, is a responsibility that is shared by the private sector, the public sector and citizens.”

“In addition to representing Montréal as a dynamic cultural and economic city, VIVEMONTRÉAL reinforces our sense of belong to the city,” Mr. Leblanc said. “The Board of Trade intends to promote this new signature on a variety of platforms starting today to showcase the vitality and agility of the city’s businesses.”
