Dominic Gagnon

Entrepreneur-In-Residence
BDC

Dominic Gagnon

Originally from Quebec’s Lac-Saint-Jean region, Dominic Gagnon has been building businesses since the age of 14, driven by one conviction: to predict the future, you have to build it. A serial entrepreneur, investor, author and speaker, he is known for his bold thinking, speed of execution and ability to turn emerging trends into business opportunities. Openly neurodivergent, he has made thinking differently a strategic advantage.

While at university, he founded Piranha, which became a major player in Canada’s mobile technology sector. The company delivered more than 200 projects for organizations including Desjardins, Microsoft, Bell and Simons, with operations across Canada and in Paris, before its acquisition in 2014. That same year, he sold Mozzo Technologies, a pioneering digital media solution. He also contributed to the growth of Propulse, Karelab and Rose Buddha, all subsequently acquired.

Dominic gained international recognition as co-founder and president of Connect&GO. Its connected experience technologies were deployed at the Super Bowl, the Olympic Games, Formula 1 and more than 500 events worldwide, with over 10 million smart wristbands activated. When the pandemic caused revenues to drop by 98%, he led a decisive pivot toward an all-in-one platform for attractions and destinations, reaching more than $500 million in annual transactions.

In 2025, he led the sale of Connect&GO to Peek Travel, whose backers include Eric Schmidt, Jack Dorsey and Goldman Sachs. He now serves as Partner and Vice President, Strategic Accounts, helping expand a platform that processes more than $7 billion in transactions annually.

As Entrepreneur-in-Residence at BDC, Dominic also advises the leadership team on entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence and productivity. His approach combines firsthand operating experience with the ambition to help businesses turn innovation into tangible results. A graduate of the École d’Entrepreneurship de Beauce’s Élite program, he remains active as a mentor, investor and board member, including his involvement with LOOP Mission and as Chair of School Beat.

The author of five books, including four bestsellers and Vous n’êtes pas une famille, published in April 2026, Dominic is also a blogger for Les Affaires and co-host of Les Dérangeants, a podcast with more than one million listens. He has delivered over 400 talks across Canada and internationally on innovation, AI, growth and resilience. His candid perspectives on entrepreneurial mental health and neurodiversity are helping reshape the conversation around success and sustainable performance.

Before turning 35, Dominic had earned more than 25 honours, including Desjardins’ Young Entrepreneur of the Year and RCGT and JMSB’s Personality of the Year. An EY Entrepreneur Of The Year finalist, he was also named by BizBash among the 15 most innovative people in the global events industry. He has taught entrepreneurship at Université de Sherbrooke and ÉTS.

His commitment extends beyond business. In 2025, he served as Honorary Chair of the Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ gala, helping raise more than $1 million for young people supported by Quebec’s youth protection system. For Dominic, success is most meaningful when it helps others go further.
