The biggest industrial trade show in the world

The Hannover Messe trade show is an unmissable event in the field of industrial technology.

An initiative set up by the English during the occupation of Germany, the first edition of the show was held in 1947[1] . Each spring since, the city of Hannover has opened its doors to world leaders for an exhibition of the latest products, solutions and practices in industrial technology. Over the years, the event has built up an unrivalled reputation and expertise. It has become essential for previewing the latest innovations and trends in robotics, automatization, environmental engineering and even nanotechnology.

This show alone brings together more than 6,500 exhibitors from 70 countries.

The manufacturing sector: a pillar of Quebec’s economy

The participation of 22 Quebec businesses in the Hannover Messe show is part of the innovative manufacturing initiative of the Chamber and Investissement Québec.

The manufacturing sector represents 14% of the province’s gross domestic product and is at the root of 90% of exports, resulting in direct and indirect profits of $69.3 billion. More than 55% of Quebec’s investments in R&D are also made in this industry, putting it on the cutting edge of innovation.

One of the main pillars of our economy, the manufacturing sector contributes to the appeal of the province and its metropolis. It is, however, essential for our businesses to keep up-to-date on technological advances in the industry if they want to increase their productivity and stay competitive.

From April 22 to 27, businesses participating in the German trade mission will have the opportunity to discover the most recent industrial novelties and innovations alongside the mission’s co-chairs, Pierre Gabriel Côté, President and CEO of Investissement Québec, and Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal.
