This spring, the international team of the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal coordinated and accompanied two major economic missions in Europe, confirming its key role in supporting the internationalization of Quebec businesses. These missions are strategic initiatives aimed at helping companies, particularly SMEs, explore new markets, establish contacts, and increase their exports.
In Hanover, we coordinated Quebec's presence at Hannover Messe 2025, the world’s largest industrial trade fair. In Paris, in partnership with the BIM Group of Quebec, we led a delegation of innovative companies to BIM World | Jumeaux Numériques.
Two events, two industries, but one shared belief: Quebec has everything it takes to shine on the world stage, and the Chamber is proud to be the catalyst.
Hannover Mission 2025 – A global showcase for industrial Quebec
From March 30 to April 4, the Chamber’s international team coordinated Quebec’s presence at Hannover Messe 2025. It was a historic edition, with Canada featured as the partner country of this international event, which attracts over 130,000 visitors from 150 countries annually.
Initiated by NGen and alongside our partners—the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy, Commerce International Québec, Investissement Québec International, and the Quebec General Delegation in Munich—we mobilized over 300 Quebec participants and more than 100 Quebec companies, all actively engaged in this strategic trade fair.
Mission highlights:
- A visit from Premier François Legault, who came to encourage Quebec companies
- Panels on sustainable innovation and Industry 4.0
- An immersion in German industry with the ORPEX delegation: visiting the UNESCO heritage site Fagus GreCon and Volkswagen’s impressive assembly line in Wolfsburg
- Cultural presence with The 7 Fingers and Charlotte Cardin
A landmark mission where the Chamber demonstrated its ability to orchestrate large-scale international actions to benefit the Quebec ecosystem.
BIM World Paris 2025 – Quebec leading the way in digital collaboration
Meanwhile, the Chamber’s international team and the BIM Group of Quebec led a trade mission from March 31 to April 4 in Paris, marking their fourth participation in BIM World | Jumeaux Numériques. It was an intense week focused on the digital transformation of the construction sector.
BIM (Building Information Modeling) is an innovative and collaborative method for managing construction projects using a 3D digital model, enabling designers, builders, and managers to better understand, manage, and maintain buildings.
From the kickoff at the Embassy of Canada in France, the mission—led by the Chamber’s international team—set the tone: a dialogue between Quebec and French ecosystems. The warm welcome and involvement of key players sparked rich discussions and tangible opportunities for Quebec participants, notably Montréal-based DeBox Creative, which opened an office in Toulouse.
Diving in the heart of French infrastructure, the delegation members visited SNCF Réseau’s facilities, the French rail infrastructure manager. Their full-scale immersive room provided a striking glimpse into the future of project management in a digitally transforming railway environment.
Another highlight: a meeting with the Société des grands projets in Saint-Denis Pleyel, a strategic hub in Greater Paris, where participants compared French and Quebec approaches to BIM, accessibility, and urban development.
These targeted visits, organized alongside BIM World, were true catalysts for collaboration. They paved the way for deeper dialogue and matchmaking opportunities between companies, institutions, and experts from both regions.
Trade show highlights:
- A lively and dynamic Quebec Pavilion at the heart of the show
- Booths from companies Geo-Plus and 3dverse gave them a chance to shine
- Cégep du Vieux Montréal began a promising collaboration with the prestigious French engineering school École des Ponts ParisTech
A shared ambition: Connecting Quebec to the world
Through these two missions, the Chamber reaffirmed its strategic role: building bridges, opening doors, and propelling Quebec businesses onto the international stage.
We return from these events with ideas, contacts, and budding partnerships—and above all, a renewed drive to support our companies in their international development.
Because Quebec innovates. And because the Chamber is here to make it shine.
