As part of special consultations by the Assemblée nationale du Québec’s Committee on Public Finance, the Chamber shared its comments with the Chair of the Conseil du trésor and Minister Responsible for Government Administration, Ms. Sonia LeBel, related to Bill 12, An Act mainly to promote Québec-sourced and responsible procurement by public bodies, to reinforce the integrity regime of enterprises and to increase the powers of the Autorité des marchés publics.

Our brief echoes the study by the Chamber and Propulsion Québec entitled Making public procurement in Quebec a strategic tool for strengthening innovation and developing the economy. The Chamber and its partners mobilized in recent years in favour of a reform of public procurement.

The brief has three areas of focus: the procurement process, the criteria of innovation and sustainable development and equity between the city and the regions of Quebec.
