Press release: New tools available in Longueuil for start-ups and business development

Press release

New tools available in Longueuil
for start-ups and business development

Montreal, June 6, 2005 - The Centre local de développement de Longueuil (CLD) recently formed an important partnership with Info entreprises, the business information experts at the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, with a view to offering Longueuil entrepreneurs a strategic information search service and direct access to information on government programs for business people.

Through the CLD, Info entreprises will now make its impressive collection of business information (market studies, statistics, company lists, directories, etc.) available free of charge via its document loan service and offer the services of its specialized research agents who conduct searches for information in a multitude of private and public databanks. This type of service will be offered at a preferential rate to Longueuil CLD clients. And finally, entrepreneurs will have timely access to current, accurate, useful and pertinent information on federal, provincial, municipal and private products, programs, services and regulations that will help entrepreneurs achieve their objectives more quickly.

“Entrepreneurs at the start-up stage, but also those with expansion projects, will appreciate the quality of the advice and level of expertise of Info entreprises,” affirmed Richard Hallé, president of the Longueuil CLD. “In fact, it is often difficult for a new entrepreneur to compile the right data for a market study, which is a major step in the start-up process. This new point of service in Longueuil will make it easier to collect this vital information.”

“Our partnership with the Centre local de développement de Longueuil will create synergy between our two organizations that will help us better serve the interests of entrepreneurs in the greater Longueuil area by quickly delivering quality information on municipal, federal and provincial government programs in a single location. Because the Board of Trade believes SMEs are the driving force of our economy, we make it a priority to help them realize their full potential in terms of innovation, productivity and competitiveness,” stated Isabelle Hudon, president and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal.
