Press release

MERX chooses the experts at the World Trade Centre Montréal to increase its international presence

Montreal, November 24, 2004 – MERX, Canada's leading provider of e-tendering solutions and a subsidiary of Mediagrif Interactive Technologies Inc. (TSX: MDF) is proud to announce its choice of the World Trade Centre Montréal team – the experts of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal in international trade – to deploy its business development efforts among multilateral development banks (MDB) such as the World Bank.

The WTC Montréal team will help MERX in its search for projects presenting concrete business potential, the coordination of its initiatives with MDB and financed-government experts, and its management of the bid process. MERX, which provides the e-tendering service for the governments of Canada, Ontario, and Manitoba, has chosen markets financed by MDBs as one of its business development axes.

“To promote greater transparency in the management of the tendering process and thus increased competition, MDBs are often called upon to contribute financially to the implementation of e-tendering services,” declared Jocelyn Poirier, President of MERX. “We benefited from the expertise and the network of the WTC Montréal during an earlier trade mission, and we believe this new partnership will help MERX in its international development strategy,” he added. Moreover, since 2000, MERX has been operating the official e-procurement service in the Philippines.

“Thanks to its WTC Montréal team, the Board of Trade is the Canadian leader in market development through multilateral development banks. For the past seven years, its team of specialists has been organizing trade missions to Washington and to countries financed by MDBs working with companies from all parts of Canada. Thanks to this unique expertise, the Board of Trade has a network of valuable contacts with MDB experts and is familiar with the internal workings of these institutions,” declared Benoit Labonté, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal.

Through its World Trade Centre Montréal experts and with the support of Canada Economic Development, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal offers international trade services to the greater business community.

MERX is Canada's leader provider of e-tendering solutions. Through relationships with over 3,000 government-buying organizations in Canada, MERX provides an Internet-based tendering service that allows more than 20,000 Canadian businesses to access billions of dollars in government contract opportunities annually.
