MTL @ Paris: Creative Montréal SMEs off to conquer the French capital

Document sans nom

Montréal, March 25, 2015 – From March 30 to April 3, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal and its team of international trade experts, the World Trade Centre Montréal, will take part in a trade mission to Paris. Nine companies from the technology, creative and fashion industries will participate. This trade mission is being conducted as part of MTL @ Paris, a Tourisme Montréal initiative that the Board of Trade is involved in, to offer Montréal exposure on the French market and create lasting ties between the two major cities.

During the trade mission, participating companies will take part in one-on-one and group meetings with potential clients and partners. Companies from the fashion industry will also have the chance to enjoy two days showcasing their work in the Parisian showroom No Season, as well as special access to the French fashion press.

“Paris is an important market for creative businesses,” said Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. “It is one of the European centres for digital industries and one of the fashion capitals of the world. It’s also an excellent jumping-off point for other European cities, such as Berlin, London and Rome.”

“One of the main recommendations from a 2013 Board of Trade study on the creative industries was to improve Montréal’s international reputation as a creative city,” Michel Leblanc said. “So after holding a strategic forum on fashion in 2011 and another on the creative industries in 2013, the Board of Trade decided to increase the number of trade missions for these industries. In February, in partnership with the Québec Government Office, the Board of Trade organized a fashion industry trade mission to New York, generating close to $600,000 in confirmed sales and over $750,000 in potential sales in just a few days.”

“The activities organized during the week by the partners will offer the nine companies an excellent opportunity to make their mark and enjoy increased visibility in Paris, a highly competitive market,” Mr. Leblanc said. “They will have a chance to showcase the creativity and vitality of the city’s business community in one of Europe’s largest business centres.”

Companies participating in this trade mission are:

  • Adorable Outerwear
  • Nisse
  • Eläma
  • KQK
  • Lalli
  • Logiciels SoftCollab Inc.
  • gsmprjct°technologie
  • DIX au carré
  • Sid Lee Labs

Participating companies are available for interviews.
