Join us on Tuesday, December 14 from 11:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. for a talk by Pierre-Elliott Levasseur, President of La Presse.
In 2011, La Presse initiated an impressive shift. Since then, the news medium has gone 100% digital and independent, operating under a not-for-profit structure. This ambitious restructuring project, driven by a strong mission supported by its employees, readers and partners, has enabled it to reach its goal of raising $5 million in annual donations in just two years.
Thanks to these major transformations, support from its readership and a marked increase in its advertising revenue, La Presse was able to announce in January that it had achieved a balanced budget, a sign that its digital shift and business model are successful.
This important institution is still a key player in the advertising market but, above all, it is a leader in the Quebec news industry, reaching over 4 million readers per month.
While there is much talk about the media crisis and with the La Presse business model remaining unique in the market, Pierre-Elliott Levasseur, President of La Presse, will discuss the importance of reinventing ourselves to survive.
