As part of the “I love working downtown” initiative, the Chamber is proud to have presented ré·CRÉATIONMTL a program of 14 creative and sensory experiences designed by hundreds of artists and collaborators!
The free installations and activities have inspired thousands of workers and visitors, and have breathed new life into the heart of the city. They have given colleagues, friends and partners a chance to enjoy time together during a welcome break in their workday.
These supported projects stood out as part of a major call for projects, and the foundation behind the initiative was as follows: "With workers returning downtown, we have an opportunity to rethink how we do things as we reclaim our spaces. Let’s make downtown a fun place to be for the workers who are there every day. Let’s give ourselves a break from the daily routine, so that returning to the office is not just going back to the way things were."

Ré·CRÉATION MTL has left a unique mark on our city.
In short, our ré·CRÉATION MTL signature projects have made a significant positive impact in many ways:
- They have attracted thousands of workers and visitors to the downtown area.
- They have involved hundreds of managers, collaborators, experts, artists and craftspeople.
- They have enabled new business relationships between property owners and the creative and cultural industries.
- Four permanent installations are now major attractions in the downtown area.
- Many of these projects have enabled promoters to test new ideas and ways of doing things, and many will be upgraded, relocated and even exported.

La MUe de la Place Dupuis
Employees are more than ever looking for a workplace that is inviting, innovative, stimulating and stands out from the crowd. MU will transform some of the corridors into euphoric, immersive experiences that stimulate the senses and will have you exclaiming, “I love working downtown!”

Generations of Greatness
This urban mural on a brick wall permanently commemorates Montréal’s hockey history, demonstrating the game’s cultural significance. This massive mural will also be technologically enhanced using light installations and special light effects.

Les fleurs sont partout : Le jardin du centre-ville
This installation celebrates the resilience and strength of Montrealers during this pandemic period. Flowers stand tall, regardless of the weather or the season. They bring life to our city, enticing workers to come and admire the energy that is their very essence.

The Ring

DANS LE FLEUVE
Promoters: Jobel Art for the Earth and Rodeo FX
The figurative, emotional and informative immersion in the waters of the St. Lawrence will allow passers-by, as they walk through, to consider and visualize the river as a living element and a fundamental resource that is part of Montreal’s DNA.

Eating Voices
Whether for lunch, happy hour or a special team dinner, Food Sessions gives people returning downtown for work the opportunity to experience something new at this neighbourhood favourite for foodies.

Festival Art Souterrain XL
Thanks to support from the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal, the Festival Art Souterrain will have an unusual format. It will offer visitors more to see and experience in the underground city, showcasing imposing creations and a larger selection of artists, exploring the theme of diversity and inclusion.

This installation, Holographic Garden – The Other Side of the Screen, consists of an open structure overlooking an urban garden. The structure is made of shimmering, colourful materials designed to create holographic effects, with local plant life adding the final touch.

Workers will reconnect with their community in immersive new variations on co-working spaces. These spaces will stop time, letting visitors meet up with co-workers for a coffee break or enjoy some quiet time alone.

A project in which art and technology come together in an immersive space in the heart of downtown. Workers will be invited to an exhibition featuring a selection of digital works by international artists, whose respective visions reveal a heightened perception of current and future technological issues.
