Preliminary program
Why Morocco?
Morocco is one of the most sophisticated and developed countries on the African continent.
Its competitive prices and world-class infrastructure make for a commercial environment that is conducive to business development, giving it the reputation as the “Best Cost” country.
This country, through the Invest in Morocco government agency, offers a wide variety of incentives, including:
- Low taxation
- Subsidy programs
- Management of the required technical training
- Adoption of new laws aiming to improve investment conditions
The country has an advanced program for specialized training that opens access to qualified workers. With a median age of 29, the country has a young and active workforce.
Mobility in Morocco
Mobility in Morocco affects several industries, for example:
- This industry is the main production and exportation platform for equipment and automotive vehicles (Renault, Yazaki, PSA, Peugeot, Citroën, etc.).
- It is a strategic industry in the country’s industrial policy.
- During the Rail Industry Summit at Casablanca in November 2017, it was announced that the industry would develop its own integrated ecosystem.
- The completion of the Casablanca–Tangier high-speed rail line (LGV) is expected for mid-2018.
- Bombardier Transportation and Alstom are already very active in Morocco.
- Industry with a rapid and constant growth.
- Infrastructure up to international standards. The largest builders (OEM) such as Boeing (US), Airbus (France), Bombardier (Canada), Embraer (Brazil), Comac (China) and Sukhoi (Russia) rely on at least some components built in Morocco for their aircraft programs.
- Many integrated industrial platforms, such as MidParc in Nouaceur (aeronautics free zone in Casablanca).
- Tanger Med, largest Moroccan export port and biggest African port, is celebrating its tenth year while Tanger Med 2 is being built.
- Tanger Med is connected to 37 other ports in Africa.
- Tanger Med was voted 16th place globally for maritime transport by the United Nations.
- Last April’s launch of the new OpenLab in Morocco, called Sustainable Mobility for Africa, marks the beginning of a four-year research program aiming to design mobility systems for the African market. Renewable energy, electric vehicles and logistics will be its main focus.
