The seminar in brief

Despite the context of uncertainty during the current renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the United States remains a thriving strategic market and the principal partner for Canadian companies. For instance, 72% of Québec exports make their way to the United States, and 35% of our imports come from our neighbours to the South.

On March 21, attend a seminar on business opportunities in the United States, during which our experts from both sides of the border will discuss the strong trade relations that persist between our two nations, and will provide companies with the right tools and information required to pursue, maintain, and continue this collaboration.

A unique opportunity to:

  • Find out how to maintain and protect your investments on the American market
  • Acquire new knowledge about the American business environment and ecosystem
  • Get inspired by company representatives who will share their experience on the market
  • Learn more about the market and about business opportunities in your sector
  • Meet experts involved in trade with the United States on a daily basis

Why the United States?

The United States remains a key market for Québec exporters:

  • 20% of Québec’s GDP comes from trade with the United States
  • 72% of Québec exports make their way to the United States, and 35% of our imports come from our neighbours to the South
  • The total value of trade between Québec and the United States represented $95 billion last year
  • The state of New York is the main destination for our exports in the country, receiving 11% of our exports, valued at $7 billion
  • Canada remains the principal partner of 32 American states, and close to 9 million jobs in the U.S. depend on trade with Canada

Who should attend?

  • All companies seeking to develop their business in the United States or seeking to learn more about the market
  • All companies active in the United States and seeking to expand their presence on the market
