Montréal and Quebec are known worldwide for their thriving gastronomic scene, which stands out for its
quality establishments,
the
renowned chefs who
run them, and
the diversity of its niche producers.
However, the pandemic, with its closures and reduced traffic, has shaken the sector.
As part of “I love working downtown” initiative, the Chamber and Québec chefs and niche producers presented an impact study and roadmap to promote the sector’s recovery and contribution to our economy. This initiative led the Ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation to support the creation of La Table Ronde, a new collective of chefs and niche producers who aim to develop and promote local gastronomy.
