In 2017, the Government of Quebec signed a technological innovation cooperation agreement with the Israeli government.

The Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement (CIFTA) has been in force since 1997 and has led to:

  • The tripling of two-way merchandise trade between the Two countries
  • Reduced tariffs for Canadian exports
  • New provisions to facilitate trade with respect to sanitary measures, intellectual property and e-commerce
  • Provisions to protect workers and the environment
