As Montréal-Trudeau Airport celebrates its 75
th anniversary, Mr. James Cherry will review the major milestones in the history of this infrastructure that has been so essential to Montréal’s development. He will specifically focus on the major changes that have taken place over the past 15 years. At the same time, Mr. Cherry will address Aéroports de Montréal’s transformation into a resolutely commercial business with important economic impacts for the Greater Montréal region. Lastly, he will discuss possible changes to come as part of the reform of the Canada Transportation Act, including the sale of major airports’ assets.
This event is presented as part of Montréal’s Civil Aviation Week and marks the presence of over 5,000 civil aviation representatives at the ICAO annual meeting and the Airport Council International (ACI) conference. We will be celebrating the vitality of the aviation and aerospace sectors, which work together for the prosperity of Quebec. Over the course of the week, Aéroports de Montréal, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, the Ville de Montréal, Aéro Montréal and Montréal International will present a series of activities with the themes of innovation and the environment.
