Parc Jean-Drapeau: the city’s playground [brief]

CCMM - Blog - Parc Jean-Drapeau: the city’s playground

Parc Jean-Drapeau (PJD) is unique among the parks of North America’s major cities. It is one of the most visited sites in Montréal, and it has only been getting busier over the last few years. In order to keep this momentum going, the Société du Parc Jean-Drapeau (SPJD) has established a master plan to determine the vision, values and direction for the park over the next ten years. The business community welcomes this initiative, which aims to support the growth and development of cultural activities in this unique environment.

The SPJD has designated the CCMM as a stakeholder in the situation analysis document that has been prepared for the current consultation. The CCMM has taken an interest in PJD’s activities for many years, and has invited the SPJD to its annual Major Projects Strategic Forum on several occasions.

The CCMM has often championed PJD’s strategic importance during consultations regarding metropolitan issues, including the Office de consultation publique de Montréal’s consultation on the Downtown Strategy in 2016 and the Canada Lands Company’s public consultation in 2017 regarding the preliminary master plan to revitalize the Old Port of Montréal.
