Press Release

The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal
welcomes the arrival of the PGA Champions Tour to the Montréal region

Montréal, February 4, 2010 - The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal is delighted about the announcement of the PGA Champions Tour coming to the Montréal region for a minimum of three years.

"The holding of the PGA Presidents Cup in Montréal in 2007 demonstrated the sporting event's great power of attraction, both locally and on an international scale. The PGA is a tremendous calling card for the region abroad, testifying to the vitality and variety of the events held here. The establishment of this international golf championship in the greater metropolitan region will contribute to enhancing the city's array of major summer events and, with its 60,000 expected visitors, will also generate major economic activity both for the Montréal region and for Quebec as a whole," stated the President and CEO of the Board of Trade, Michel Leblanc.

"For business people, the PGA Champions Tour will serve as an outstanding opportunity to network with clients and partners in an atmosphere of healthy competition! We are convinced that the business community will turn out in great numbers to support the event," added Mr. Leblanc.

The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal has some 7,000 members. Its mission is to represent the interests of the business community of Greater Montreal and to provide individuals, merchants, and local businesses of all sizes with a variety of specialized services to help them achieve their full potential in terms of innovation, productivity and competitiveness. The Board of Trade is Québec's leading private economic development organization.
