The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal presents Quebec's political leaders
Series of events to promote an understanding of the leaders' visions on the economic development of the Montreal region
Montreal, October 7, 2002 The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal is proud to launch its series of RBC Royal Bank Special Business Luncheons tomorrow, October 8, by welcoming Jean Charest, leader of the Quebec Liberal Party. The leader of the Action démocratique du Québec, Mario Dumont, will be our guest speaker on November 21, and on December 9, Bernard Landry, leader of the Parti Québécois, will address members of the Board of Trade and the region's business community.
Given the probability that a general election will be held in Quebec next spring, the Board of Trade is offering its members, the business community and citizens of the Montreal region an exclusive opportunity to obtain accurate and relevant information and an in-depth look at the positions of Quebec's key political leaders.
To this end, the Board of Trade expects that its guest speakers will present a clear and considered vision of the economic development of Metropolitan Montreal and that the realization of their vision will be at the core of their respective electoral campaigns. As the economic engine driving Quebec, Montreal should benefit from dynamic, targeted measures to increase the competitiveness of the region's businesses and the quality of life its citizens enjoy. Within this context, Metropolitan Montreal should also reflect financial strength on a par with its responsibilities.
The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal has more than 7 000 members. Its mission is to be the leading group representing the interests of the Greater Montreal business community. The objectives are to maintain, at all times, relevance to its membership, credibility towards the media and influence towards government and decision-makers.
