Press release

Arnold Schwarzenegger to speak at the
Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal forum

Montréal, January 5, 2011 – The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal is pleased to announce that Arnold Schwarzenegger will be speaking in Montréal on January 27, 2011, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Centre Sheraton.

On January 3, Mr. Schwarzenegger completed his seven years as Governor of California. His many accomplishments include sweeping political reforms, historic investments in California's crumbling infrastructure, and the most comprehensive greenhouse gas policy in the world.  On his first speaking tour, the Governor will talk to the Montréal business community about his career in politics, movies and bodybuilding.

“After Bill Clinton, Tony Blair, George W. Bush, Alan Greenspan and Sir Richard Branson, we are proud to welcome Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger to our forum,” said Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade. “Mr. Schwarzenegger’s visit reaffirms Montréal’s position as a top destination for leaders on the international scene who want to share their vision of the challenges we are facing. From his experience in American politics to his efforts combating climate change, Schwarzenegger incarnates openness to change and the boldness of innovative solutions. We are pleased to bring the business community and more particularly Quebec’s clean technology industry—one of the centres of excellence in North America—a visit from such a model of leadership.”

The presence of international leaders such as Arnold Schwarzenegger at the Board of Trade’s forum is made possible through the support of the following partners: Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (FMC), Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton and Royal Bank of Canada.
