8th edition of Export Alliance Construction:
An exceptional showcase for manufacturers in
Quebec's construction sector

Montréal, February 10, 2009 – The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal and its team at the World Trade Centre Montréal, in partnership with the Ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation and the Société d'habitation du Québec, held the eighth edition of Export Alliance Construction at the OMNI Mont-Royal Hotel yesterday.

This important networking event, the largest of its kind in Quebec, enabled Quebec exporters of construction products and equipment to forge and strengthen business ties with buyers from Western Canada, the American North-East, and for the first time, England. This year, some sixty participants from the residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional construction sectors held a total of 240 meetings.

“In organizing Export Alliance Construction 2009, through the intermediary of its experts at the World Trade Centre Montréal, the Board of Trade aimed to help Quebec companies counter the effects of the current economic slowdown by developing new markets and expanding their business networks. They had a chance to meet with major buyers who travelled here to learn about their products. The quality and added value of Quebec products were on clear display,” declared Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal.

This event was made possible by a partnership with the Ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation and the Société d'habitation du Québec as well as the collaboration of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada – Canadian Trade Commissioner Service, the Association de la construction du Québec, Export Development Canada, and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
