THE ACTIVITY IN BRIEF

For the 5th year in a row, the team of experts at the World Trade Centre Montréal will be holding an important round table discussion on export market development prospects for Quebec companies.

Three eminent international market specialists will provide an overall picture of business issues and opportunities for Quebec firms in Asia, Latin America, and Africa.

Take advantage of our guest speakers’ vision, understanding, and forecasts:

Mr. Charles Sirois, Chairman of the Board and Founder of Telesystem.
Mr. Sirois will provide a portrait of the African markets. The continent is in the midst of an economic and demographic boom, which is resulting in incredible growth in domestic demand throughout a wide variety of sectors. The need to satisfy this demand means there are plenty of business opportunities for the taking. Quebec companies must therefore make sure their strategic positioning is adequate with respect to the great potential Africa has to offer.

The Honourable Pierre S. Pettigrew, former member of Parliament and federal cabinet minister, and Executive Advisor, International, Deloitte & Touche.
Mr. Pettigrew will discuss his thoughts on the situation in Latin America and its sub-regions. He will speak about the many business opportunities this area has to offer, as well as ways of entering into and running eventual partnerships.

Mr. Loïc Tassé Political Scientist, China and Asia Specialist
Loïc Tassé will speak to us about the recent market developments in Asia, the second leading destination for Canadian exports.
He will also shed some light on business trends, economic issues and Canada-Asia relations.
