The Board of Trade salutes a great builder of modern-day Quebec

Montréal, March 30, 2016 ‒ With the announcement of the death of Bernard Lamarre, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal would like to offer Mr. Lamarre’s family and loved ones our deepest condolences.

Honoured as a Great Montrealer in 1985, Bernard Lamarre was a highly talented engineer, a skilled administrator, a seasoned businessman and one of the builders of modern-day Quebec. He was the driving force behind the company Lavalin, one of the flagships of Quebec entrepreneurship, and he led the company through many projects as it helped shape our city and all of Quebec.

In addition to Bernard Lamarre’s contribution to the business world, the city is grieving one of its great patrons. Mr. Lamarre was a pillar of philanthropy within the Francophone community. His outstanding commitment for almost 25 years on the board of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, as member then as chairman, is a noteworthy example.
