The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal is proud to welcome SNC-Lavalin as a pillar sponsor

Montréal, November 20, 2015 ‒ The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal is proud to welcome engineering and construction group SNC-Lavalin (TSX: SNC) as one of its pillar sponsors.

“With its head office in Montréal and some 5,000 jobs in Quebec, SNC-Lavalin is one of the flagships of our economy,” said Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. “One of the largest groups globally in its sector – it employs 40,000 people worldwide – SNC-Lavalin is a local and international showcase for Quebec expertise and ingenuity. This is why the Board of Trade is so proud to have it as one of its pillar sponsors.”

“SNC-Lavalin is proud to support the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, a crucial institution for the city,” said Erik Ryan, Executive Vice-President, Marketing, Strategy and External Relations, SNC-Lavalin. “Our head office has been in Montréal for over 100 years, and we have always had a major stake in the city’s economic vitality.”

“In recent years, while companies in the engineering and construction industry have been faced with a crisis of reputation, they have also been very quick to take concrete action to address the situation,” Michel Leblanc said. “We mustn’t lose sight of the fact that these companies play a central role in Quebec’s priorities and infrastructure projects and that their activities have a significant impact on our economy.”

“Over the past 10 years, the Board of Trade has built a solid relationship with SNC-Lavalin based on commitment and cooperation,” Michel Leblanc said. “We are honoured to be able to count on this top-notch player that shares an exciting vision of the future of Montréal.”

The Board of Trade’s pillar sponsor status was created in 2009 to bring together economic flagships who have Montréal’s growth at heart. SNC-Lavalin joins Bell, Desjardins, Hydro-Québec and Rio Tinto as one of the Board of Trade’s pillar sponsors.
